Established under the MTSA, the Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) is a biometric identification card that will be issued to all personnel that require unescorted access to a secure/restricted area of a maritime port facility or vessel, after successfully passing a Security Threat Assessment (criminal history background check, terrorist watch list review and immigration status check).

For more information on TWIC go to https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic or call 1-866-DHS-TWIC (1-866-347-8942).

Enrollment centers now provide services for TWIC as well as TSA’s TSA Pre✓™ and Hazardous Material Endorsement (HME) programs. Instead of looking for a “TWIC Enrollment Center” sign look for a “Universal Enrollment Services” or “UES” sign. When you need to apply for or renew your TWIC be sure to check the UES Locator website to find the nearest UES center – httpss://universalenroll.dhs.gov/locator
